Job Role Scope:
This role will focus on the full range of in-house manufactured products at Creo Medical as they grow from the initial seeding stage of production into a more regular production state. The role involves leading change to the mechanical design and tolerancing of components to ensure reliable fit and function in a volume manufacturing setting.
This role will require iterative improvements to the products where issues are identified in line with the business needs to develop the design and employ mature manufacturing methodologies to a small batch production development.
This is a challenging role that allows an engineer to apply their skills and experience to a range of products to bring more robust manufacturing design and cost down activities to streamline the procurement of materials to enable product manufacturing to grow effectively. This role will be required to travel globally occasionally.
Key tasks for the position holder:
- Able to provide technical insight based on theoretical models to inform the design principles & challenge the design robustly
- Expert in BS EN 8888 and able to manage drawings to ensure best in class standard is applied
- Able to develop engineering drawings across an engineering function to ensure the attention to detailed required for complex products is captured
- Experience in managing product BoM’s inline with an ERP system to enable engineering to align with the ERP system to aid operations functions in managing material correctly.
- Able to provide technical input into the development of component manufacturing methods and support supplier requirements to ensure the quality required is achieved
- Able to provide technical insight based on theoretical models to inform the design principles & challenge the design robustly
- Experience working with customers to validate the design has met the requirements
- Demonstrates a knowledge of materials to aid the design and development process and secure a robust design

- Excellent engineering and root cause analysis problems solving skills (demonstrable use of problem-solving tools) with an ability to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical and electronics designs.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics to meet tight deadlines.
- Enjoys being part of multifunctional team where the facts lead the decision making.
- Ability to prioritise work based on patient and business need.
- Experience in understanding and applying risk management principles to the design, development and production process.
